Those first few months of baby’s life and of becoming a mum care precious but challenging, yoga can provide mums with the support and self care she needs to be fully present with her baby and enjoy this special time. Mum and baby yoga allows her to do something for herself to start to tone her core and pelvic floor, alleviate any issues from pregnancy while bonding with her baby and gaining confidence as a mum.

It is an ideal class to offer those mums who were in your pregnancy yoga class and want to continue doing yoga with their baby.

The aim of this course is to give you the skills and knowledge to support women and their new babies coming back to yoga in mum and baby yoga classes.

Length of course (hours) 21 hours (18 live contact hours + assignments)

Module 2 Asana for post natal yoga for mum

Entry requirements

Candidates must be fully qualified; trainee yoga teachers may be accepted onto the course but will only receive their cert on completion of their level one 200 hour teacher training.

Pregnancy yoga teaching qualifications and experience is an advantage but not necessary.

Price: €300

Minimum participants: 4

Maximum participants: 12


Attendance is important and missed sessions may have to be made up in order to complete the course successfully.

Assessment is continuous and formative with project based learning forming part of the course. There are two practical assignments.

Teaching practice will take place throughout the course and the final teaching practice will be assessed with feedback given directly to the trainees.

As well as providing each student with the necessary skills for teaching yoga for the course gives an excellent opportunity for personal development and growth.

Trainees are expected to participate fully in all practices and assignments to the best of their ability. Tutors are there to support them becoming competent happy mum and baby yoga teachers.
