What trainees say about Clare
I met Clare as one of the Tutors on the Teacher Training Yoga course that I attended 2019/2020. I signed up for this course full of fear and full of I can’t do this, the Imposter syndrome was rife in me. I had woke up 7yrs previously and had wanted to do the yoga training but had been held back by my negative thinking. I had learnt the Sun Salutation and the 5Tibetan Rites many years before and that was the extent of my yoga knowledge, so in terms of yoga or Asana terminology I was a beginner, so I was scared that I had jumped in . Clare is a very knowledgeable and nurturing yoga teacher who takes you through the pose bit by bit, over and over so that you know what your body can and can’t do . Clare takes care to explain how to adapt postures so that you do not injure or further aggravate existing problems. Clare is a well of knowledge on Yoga Philosophy adding this into the experience, bringing home the idea that yoga is more than the Asanas.
At one point I was full of fear that I wasn’t good enough and I was uptight and nervous and Clare calmly said ,”Ann so what if you get it wrong, you can do it again”, I just needed that reassurance that “if at first you don’t succeed you try, try and try again”, that’s the essence of yoga in a nutshell. Clare teaches that is not a competition, it’s at your pace, at your level, at your ability and that it’s a gift to have the space on the mat for yourself.
Thank you Clare for reminding me that “I am worth it and to keep coming back to the mat, even to sit and just be with me”. I hope that you will stay long enough to experience the calm you will find through attending Clare’s classes and how the body with gentle care releases tension and moves easier into position’s. Enjoy discovering you.
Ann Herkes, Yoga teacher
I count myself lucky to have had Clare Bassett as my trainer on a number of Yoga and Meditation trainings I’ve completed.
Clare is a generous and accomplished teacher, warm, supportive, grounded, inclusive and inspiring. She is passionate about Yoga and Meditation and her deep knowledge and experience shine through in her teaching. Clare teaches with crystal clarity and makes everything really accessible and understandable. Her training style places strong emphasis on making Yoga & Meditation accessible, safe and enjoyable for her trainees and their students.
I’ve trained with many great teachers from around the world and Clare is up there as one of my favourite and most respected. You’ll come awake from her courses with a smile on your face, joy in your heart, and feeling competent and confident in the skills she has taught you. More than that, you’ll come away knowing you’ve made a new friend and trusted mentor.
Thank you Clare
Yvonne Lucas, Yoga teacher, Wicklow
Clare was my tutor for my 200hr yoga teacher training at barefoot yoga studio dublin last year, the course was conducted fully online because of the restrictions. We all had our reservations about this at first as we were all new to teaching and we felt that we may loose out on the full benefits of the in person interaction and training. The course however went extremely well and im delighted to have completed my online training with Clare and all the other tutors. I learned so much and the tutors gave us all 100% of there time, energy and knowledge. The added bonus of not having to leave the house was also great. There was so much energy and kindness between the whole group, even during meditation there was a great energy to be felt by everyone and there was a really strong connection between the whole group for the whole 6 months as if we were all in the same room. Even though it may seem like we were just looking at each other on a screen, we were all there enjoying our yoga journey together . I would highly recommend online yoga training and especially any of Clare’s training courses, as she delivers all of her training to the highest standard both online and in person😊🙏 karen cullen
